The Twista roof ventilator is a great way to cool your home in summer, and keep it dry and healthy in winter. It works silently, and electricity free, and as such is an eco-friendly product. But there are other things you can do to help the environment, and reduce energy costs at the same time.

Save Energy All Year Round

• Decrease your hot water temperature. Your hot water temperature wouldn't need to be above 60 degrees centigrade, otherwise you'll find that you will just be adding cold water to cool it back down to a useable temperature.
• Switch off appliances when you aren't using them. Appliances that are on standby are still using power when they really don't need to be. When you go away on vacation look at turning off your television, audio equipment and computers at the wall.
  
• Set your computer to go into 'sleep' mode if you don't use it for a certain period of time - 10 or 15 minutes for example. This will prevent your computer running for hours if you forget to turn it off.
• Tumble dryers use huge amounts of energy. If the weather is suitable think about using the sun to dry your clothes. Not only will it save energy, but it's better for your clothes too.
